Home Harbor

Home Harbor

Winner of the Dutch Design Challenge USA 2014.

The Netherlands is a country integrated with water and has a rich history of tall ships and merchant fleets. These sailing ships crossed the whole world, connecting nations, migrants, trade and culture with each other. The water and ships are symbols for the enterprising character that made the Netherlands grow into the thriving country it is today. After a long journey across the world these ships docked safely in the Home Harbor.

The enterprising ideals to travel across the world and return home is translated into a key holder concept. It consist of two keychain-ships, for two people, and a Home Harbor that can be attached to the walls. The keys anchor the boats, keeping them securely in place on the Home Harbor.

Winner of the Dutch Design Challenge USA 2014, a collaboration between the Netherlands Embassy in Washington, the Dutch Consulate General in New York, Museum of Arts and Design, Shapeways and KIkkerland Design
